GeoMark has studied virtually every petroliferous basin in the world with regional oil or oil and gas studies. These studies are intended to assess the petroleum system potential of the basin, and offer assistance with exploration decisions.
These studies are an efficient way of identifying, evaluating, and comparing various petroleum systems in areas where substantial production has been established. This kind of study is particularly useful for comparing the remaining potential of the basins, predicting the distribution of particular hydrocarbon plays, and for better understanding nearby and analogous areas. GeoMark studies are offered on a non-exclusive basis to participating oil and gas companies.

GeoMark has performed a series of interpretive studies designed to investigate the relationships between molecular geochemistry and oil quality issues.
The studies focus mainly on the origin, thermal maturity, and nature of the natural gas in the resource plays of the studied basins. Where available, oil and source rock data supplement the gas analyses. Each study involves the collection of new gas samples which are analyzed for stable carbon and deuterium isotope compositions
