Flow Assurance
GeoMark currently loads flow assurance data in the PVT Database. When sufficient data has been collected to warrant a separate Flow Assurance Module a new Flow Assurance Module will be added.
GeoMark does have a Flow assurance database of over 300 oils selected to evaluate the relative stability of waxes and asphaltenes with respect to crude oil origin, thermal history, and biodegradation. All oils were evaluated for 1) Asphaltene Onset Titration, 2) Cross Polar Microscopy, and 3) High Temperature Gas Chromatography. Molecular analyses performed on each oil include whole crude capillary gas chromatography (GC) and GC/MS for sterane and terpane biomarkers. Biomarkers are essentially molecular fossils that can be used to predict the nature, depositional environment, and thermal history of the corresponding source rocks.
The results from all these analyses are compiled in a report that examines the relationship between crude oil origin and the nature, abundance, and stability of solid components in petroleum, namely waxes and asphaltenes.
